Kicking Horse Canyon
Phase 4
Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4 is the last phase of Highway 1 widening just outside of Golden, BC. The project included 4 bridges and 7 viaducts, including the longest MSE wall in 5 kilometres of upgrade. All bridges and viaducts were built on piles drilled into the bedrock. The existing 6KM, 2-lane stretch of winding Highway 1 was transformed into a smooth 4-lane straight highway. The total budget for the project was $700 million. NHKS provided Quality Management Services on behalf of the Province.
Main Duties:

Review all QC test records, checklists, material inspection reports, material receiving reports, work method statements and Hanover/Turnover. documentation for each element.

Conduct daily site surveillance.

Assist the client with monthly progress draw validation

Review project schedule and provide input

Review of non-conformance and approval of disposition, root cause and preventative actions.

Draft province generated non-conformance related to contractor’s processes and systems.

Inspect and close out deficiencies at time of substantial completion.

Assist the Project Quality Advisor with audits

TI Corp acquired NHKS to close out the project and be present to represent the owner until completion.
